A Film We Are Proud to Support
The Bari International Film Festival 2026 — one of Italy’s most important film events — is hosting a project close to our work: A War on Women, the documentary directed by Raha Shirazi and produced by Doppio Nodo Double Bind, the production company we represent as legal counsel.
The film opened the Meridiana section of Bif&st, dedicated to premieres from the Euro-Mediterranean area. Italian premiere. Free admission. Teatro Kursaal Santalucia, March 22 — followed by a second screening on March 23 at Cinema Il Piccolo.
What the Film Is About
A War on Women reframes the 2022 Iranian uprising not as a spontaneous revolt, but as the eruption of a feminist resistance built over forty years. The death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of Iran’s morality police drew global attention — but this documentary goes further, tracing the long and often suppressed history of women’s struggle against the world’s only theocratic regime.
From the first protests against mandatory veiling after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, to young women risking their lives in the streets today, the film weaves together the personal and political journeys of seven extraordinary protagonists. Golshifteh Farahani is among the Iranian exiles featured.
The Italian Premiere at Bif&st
On the evening of March 22, we were in the room.
Before the screening, Anna Foglietta’s short film È come sembra, made for the Fondazione Una Nessuna Centomila, set the tone — an ideal prologue for a film about female resistance. Director Raha Shirazi was joined by screenwriter Samira Mohyeddin and activist Elhae Tavakolian.
A War on Women is co-produced by Luce Cinecittà and Rosamont. DANDI.media appears in the film’s credits as legal counsel.
